Way forwrd

Saw my new hero on the local market square - a guy who had installed Midland CB radio to his Land Rover Defender. Also a proper roof-rack with extra wheel, aluminium-made travel chests and the obnoxious terrain jack. I've got some upgrades to do until gaining this level.

Early wake up to go to see Bologna. The nighttime highway was a visual piece in itself - descensions through the tunnels of many kilometers in length, being the only traveller in the darkness lit only by the highway lights. Bologna university was founded in 1088 AD, and is considered to be  the alma mater amongst european universities. Drive back via small, serpentine mountain roads. Breakfast in Firenzuola - no card payments, no English - but fortunately the cappucino doppio, served in a beer glass, was cheap enough to be paid by excess coins from the bottom of the pocket. Time to move forward before the storm?

Went on to Firenze to buy some terpent.. driving on the small roads was an experience, as you had to watch out for scooters passing by on your left and right. But not such a nightmare that many describe it to be! Now its the time to have the midsummer picnic with other guys here, see you later :).

Starting from Trieste, drove through Italian countryside towards Tuscany. The first idea was to use the village roads without going to the highway at least until Venice. However, there were traffic jams, constant roundabouts and what not, so after a few hours took the bullet and changed to the highway. Arriving to Grassina at sunset time. Pretty and nice!

This happy camper spent the night in a ⛺. After a short ride from Ljubljana burgers and street jazz, arriving on midnight to this camping place. Which had closed its doors for the night already at 9 PM. Well, a nice Polish smile to the gatekeeper let us in and after some tentbuilding under the starlight we were ready to sleep.

Good morning, from Balaton lake! Staying in Finnish-owned Villa Succa, slowly waking up.. today no hurries!

Oh, it's the infamous parliament house, hipsterishly on a party-place angle. Survived the ride, the car said 'its just a flesh wound' after hitting the concrete wall during the descent from the Tatra mountains in Slovakia. Hehee. Now time for some iced coffee and panini at the parliament square, yumm :).

Now its 12h on the road and arrived to the originally planned stopover location in Lomza, Poland. But why stop when you can carry on? So cancelled the hotel and continuing! Got a chance to test highway driving - no oil pressure problems, but the coolant temperatures start rising at 120km/h. Conclusion - go slower and enjoy the scenery!

A small place in southern Estonia. Famous for their handball team. Birds are singing, the oil pressure problems are gone and the road is ahead.

Showering at the residency - reminding of the authentic Soviet Style. At least on the pix. However, there was plenty of warm water, so its only for the looks, not for real! Now its the t ime for some La Dolce Vita pizza!

The day of fixing the go-around thingy up. Changed the oil, filters and other necessary stuff, changed the oil hose with the leaking hole and installed LED lights to replace the old halogen type headlights. Of the oil I had bought from home, they just commented: 'the oil that is good for cooking might not be the best for the engine', hehee.. Now filling the gas tank doesn't double the price of the car anymore.. Thanks to guys at www.astromoto.ee for this work - you're cool!

Airbnb found me a nice couch for sleeping - surprisingly hosted by a developer, working for a Finnish payments company. The world is small.. or not yet too far away from home! Some Entrecotē at the local restaurant called Vilde ja Vine. Not a bad choice for the first vacation day!

Telliskivi 60A - hipster capital of the North. Might even beat Berlin in this regard. We got the Colenta monster unloaded and now its time to hit the road! If you're needing commercial RA-4 printing, just contact the nice folks @artproof.eu - they've now got the machines, just waiting for the customers, hehee!

Waiting to board the ferry - I never travelled to Tallinn with the car before. Its pretty smooth however - just drive to the check-in line and follow the instructions. Once I have unladen the Colenta RA-4 colour processor to artproof.eu, I'm going to head towards south with the intention to spend the night in Tartu.
